Dear Parents,

We hope that this newsletter finds you well and that you are looking forward to spending some time as a family. We are very grateful to be able to announce that we have been, once again, been able to operate as normal this term and that there has been no interruption to our students’ learning. The children have all enjoyed the Winter - the excellent snow conditions, the ski opportunities, and the many activities that have been on offer.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank the students for their positivity throughout this long term, and the staff for their hard work, commitment and dedication. La Garenne is very fortunate to have such a wonderful community of learners and educators.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on the campus on the weekend of 24/25th April. Students who need to quarantine when they return to Switzerland must arrive on the weekend of 17/18th April so that they can cover their quarantine period prior to the beginning of term.

We are delighted to announce that La Garenne is now an IB World School! 
Following an extensive and rigorous application process which has been taking place over the last 18 months, we have met the high standards expected of schools permitted to offer the IB Diploma Programme. We would like to thank all of our teachers for their hard work and dedication, in addition to the parents and students who were kind enough to give up their time to support the school in this process. 
We are now very much looking forward to the first teaching of the Diploma Programme in August 2021, and to offering an exciting new range of subjects! Please note that the authorisation of the MYP programme is underway and we should have the results of this process very soon.

Our Senior students moved in to Le Roc in January and all Middle school and Senior students are enjoying the amazing facilities on offer there, including our fully-equipped gym, conference room and performing arts space.

We are delighted to announce our Summer Camp will start as soon as our school year ends. Our first session will begin on Saturday, 26th June for a 2, 4 or 6 week duration. The camp will end on Friday, 6th August. 

We remain confident that summer camp will be as successful as in previous years, with again a large variety of fun experiences for campers aged 5 to 16 years old. Their stay will combine either lessons in the morning and afternoon activities, or full day of activities.

If you wish your child(ren) to participate, we encourage you to enrol as soon as possible as we have already begun the registration process. Our prices have remained as before, and our cancelation policy has been fully adapted to offer our families major flexibility. 

We look forward to the beginning of summer when all these difficult times will be behind us and to welcoming your children in an atmosphere of joy, in a warm and safe environment.

We are constantly seeking ways to enhance the opportunities for our students and to find new ways to enrich their school experience. Of course, these include exciting new buildings and facilities, but they also involve the upgrading and maintenance of our current facilities, as well as offering financial support to those of our students who require it, and this is where you can make a real difference!
