Where are we?
Set in the impressive alpine village of Villars-sur-Ollon at an altitude of 1300m, our campus is designed to meet the needs of all our students. Combining tradition and modernity, our well-equipped buildings are designed to encourage high-level academic performance and multiple activities.
Surroundings
Villars-sur-Ollon overlooks the Rhone Valley and the Swiss Riviera, giving students direct access to both mountains and lakes, whilst benefiting from cultural and educational activities in Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva. The school is in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from the village proper. Villars has train and bus stations, shops, playgrounds, sports grounds, a swimming pool, bowling alley, ice rink and more. The ski lift is adjacent to school, allowing students to ski almost directly to the school door.
The Campus
The campus is centred around the main La Garenne building, an authentic Swiss chalet dating from 1820. The chalet has been modernised to include a dining room, offices and boarding accommodation for our youngest students. The main teaching building for primary and middle school children, ‘Académia’, has classrooms, a library, and a science laboratory. Just next door is ‘Beau Site’, the junior boarding house. The facilities here include student lounges, a hall and music room, and a dedicated Art Room. Our oldest students live and work in the newly renovated Senior Campus building “Le Roc”, just a couple of minutes away on foot.
Each boarding house has residential staff caring for the students. Buildings are equipped with appropriate information technology, safety and security systems including CCTV and door access is controlled by wrist bracelets. Situated within a leafy garden, there is safe and easy access to benches, a sports pitch, trampolines, table-tennis tables, table football, swings, outdoor play equipment and playhouses.
The school constantly invests in improvements to facilities and infrastructure, without compromising the natural beauty of the neighbourhood; a new addition, this year, being our on campus farm.
RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
A warm family environment has been created for boarding students, which all contribute to the sense of quality and comfort.
Girls and boys have separate sleeping areas, with bright comfortable bedrooms, all with superb mountain views. Two to four students share a room, each student having their own desk and cupboard for personal belongings. Junior rooms include an en suite bathroom. Bedrooms are a place for children to relax, enjoy reading or listening to music. Friendly house staff clean and maintain the bedrooms and bathrooms daily, and encourage students to take responsibility for the tidiness and organisation in their rooms. In the changing rooms on the ground floor, each student has a locker for outdoor clothing and sports equipment. Student lounges with age-appropriate books, toys and TV are popular for chilling quietly or socialising with peers.
