Jonathan Bailey, Head of Pastoral at La Garenne International School

Jonathan Bailey brings over 25 years of leadership and teaching experience to his role at La Garenne International School, where he serves as Head of Pastoral. His career spans a diverse range of leadership positions across international, boarding, and academically selective schools, giving him a deep understanding of how young people learn and flourish. Having taught students from Early Years right through to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Jonathan places student wellbeing and holistic growth at the very centre of his practice. Jonathan holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Sport Science and Physical Education from the University of Birmingham. Dedicated to cultivating a warm, supportive, and caring environment, he works closely with Boarding Staff and the Academic Team to help Students build confidence, self belief, and emotional strength. Passionate about inspiring learners to step outside their comfort zones, Jonathan combines clear standards with attentive pastoral care to foster resilience, personal growth, and lifelong curiosity in every student.
