Our varied extra curricular programme complements academic life for both boarders and day students. In our small school, children learn to share, be kind to others, and take on responsibility. Opportunities to participate in Swiss culture are many, through outings in the locality and beyond.  The experience of being part of a French/English bilingual community gives children the confidence to practice their languages elsewhere.

Global citizenship is further encouraged by school trips led by our experienced staff from around the world.  These trips are planned to complement and reinforce the academic programme and typically include:

  • IB MYP2 / Year 8 will experience the very popular Space Conquest & Environment trip to the USA for "The NASA educational tour”, based in Orlando, Florida. Humans are driven to explore the unknown, discover new worlds, push back the boundaries of science - and then push still further. This experience gives the students an insight into this fascinating human adventure, enjoying the best of the Kennedy Space Center and a variety of theme parks.

  • IB MYP1 / Year 7 students will fly to Lisbon and on to the breathtaking Azores archipelago of islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This trip, with the theme of Earth Science & Culture, offers a fabulous opportunity to view marine life and the geological phenomena associated with volcanic activity.

  • Year 5 & 6 students will travel to France for the Sciernce and Global Citizenship trip. This beautiful region will provide the natural backdrop for the trip, with protection of the environment and global citizenship as its central themes.

  • Year 3 to 6 will visit Manchester in the UK to take part in a Young Voices Children’s Choir Concert. For the past 20 years, Young Voices has staged the largest children's choir concerts in the world. Over 2 million children have taken part in a Young Voices concert. Each night, between 5,000-8,000 children perform as a single choir to a sold-out audience of family and friends. More information can be found on the Young Voices website. Further details on our participation will follow, https://www.youngvoices.co.uk

Expeditions and sports events present challenges through which children discover their strengths outside the classroom. After-school clubs and private tuition options allow children to try something new as well as focus on their personal interests. It is our belief that this holistic education favours the personal development of each child.
