Boarding week

After a busy couple of weeks in the Boarding school, we are now organising the end of year activities and Christmas festivities. Within the Junior and Mini house, the students have been very busy with Mylene and Stephanie in the evenings making pumpkin halloween cakes, decorating, playing games and continuing their music lessons, and that's just in one evening! All the children enjoy their time and hopefully, are very tired at lights out!

Friday Boarding evening

This Friday evening, the younger students will have a Christmas themed evening with biscuits, music and decorations being made for their house. The older students will be playing our version of Money Drop, of course with a few sweets instead of money!

Christmas

With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, we are preparing for all the festivities, including the Christmas party for the students. Some of our Senior girls have already started their Christmas shopping and decorating their rooms. It is nice to see that the girls have made an effort and take the Christmas festivities so seriously. The boys will be starting soon although unless Christmas falls at the same time as the UEFA cup, their enthusiasm may not match that of the girls!

Boarding Office

Sometimes the Boarding office is a very quiet place, usually between 22.00 and 07.00 when everyone is sleeping! On a normal day, we are all very busy and it is also normal to have the students with me working on projects, busy finishing off homework, or stealing my sweets! Boarding life!

Design and technology

The design and technology club have continued working on their new project, building a hot air balloon and flying it above the school, filming everything with a light weight camera. In order to do so, they bought balsa wood, believing it to be the lightest yet most robust material they could use, and created a small capsule to house the camera at 45 degrees whilst remaining stable. Last night they added the fuel container as well. The next step is the balloon itself, they are now deciding what to use? We will keep you updated on their success! They have even designed their own logo!
